Caring for children in an environment where they can experience a true and loving God.

Covid-19 Quick Reference Guide

About Us

Jesus is the center of Kids Ministry at The Austin Stone, and we believe that children need to hear and understand the good news of the gospel. The 7 Basic Truths are the theological framework for everything we do in Kids Ministry. These statements sum up the entire gospel message in kid-friendly language. We hope that as children grow up in Kids Ministry, they don’t just memorize these truths, but believe them, apply them to their lives, and use them to share the gospel with their friends.

What We Do

During the ongoing pandemic, Kids Ministry has created fun and engaging digital content. We hope that while children are at Kids, they will have an amazing time with other children and our awesome volunteers while learning about Jesus in meaningful ways. But Kids Ministry isn’t just for children — it’s for parents too! Through digital roundtables, discussions on parenting, virtual VBS, and other opportunities our Kids Ministry supports families as they grow together in love and faith.

We recognize that God has entrusted us with the children who are in our care, and we want every environment a child is in to be the safest it can be for them to grow in their knowledge of and love for the Lord. Each environment is supervised by multiple volunteers who have each gone through an intensive onboarding process: an application, in-person interview, background check, policy training, and sexual abuse awareness training. Our congregation teams offer their volunteers several opportunities to refresh this knowledge throughout the year.

We want our children’s ministry to reflect the scriptural truth that there should be no distinction in the body of Christ. As such, each location at The Austin Stone strives to provide a gospel-centered, inclusive environment for children who face unique challenges related to their physical, mental, behavioral, medical, or emotional needs. If you have a child with special needs and would like more information about Kids Special Needs Ministry, please contact Lauren Nesselrode.
