Downtown Construction Impact

When Austin High School thrives, we get to celebrate! The Downtown Congregation has had the unique privilege of meeting at AHS for over 20 years, and in doing so, we’ve been able to express our love for this city in wonderful ways.

In March 2026, AHS began undergoing renovations to better serve its students and teachers for years to come, and beginning in June 2026, construction will expand to impact both sides of the building. While this will continue to have a relatively low impact on how you worship with us each Sunday,  there will be updates to where you park and how you enter the building.

Let’s be good neighbors to our friends at AHS by stewarding our Sundays well! Read below for the most recent impacts and what this means for you:

Current Impact:

  • Since March 2026, the East entrance has been closed (including the roundabout), as well as 50 parking spaces in the East lot.
  • Beginning in June 2026, the West entrance will also undergo renovations, with limited access.

What This Means For You:

Parking:

  • Most of the East lot remains available.
  • You can also park in the West lot.

Entering:

  • If you park on the East side, you’ll continue to enter the building through a temporary walkway to the main entrance.
  • If you park on the West side, you’ll also enter the building through the main entrance.

Parking for families with small children is still available in the East lot, and you’ll continue to enter the building through the temporary walkway.

If you’re a visual person, don’t worry—we will have signs at Austin High to guide you into our parking lot, building, and sanctuary.
