Downtown Construction Impact

Last updated on Thursday, July 30, 2026, 11:00 am CST

When Austin High School thrives, we get to celebrate! The Downtown Congregation has had the unique privilege of meeting at AHS for over 20 years, and in doing so, we’ve been able to express our love for this city in wonderful ways.

In March 2026, AHS began undergoing renovations to better serve its students and teachers for years to come. During the summer, both sides of the school were impacted by construction, but starting in August 2026, only one side will be affected. While this continues to have a relatively low impact on how you worship with us each Sunday, this affects where you park and how you enter the building.

Let’s be good neighbors to our friends at AHS by stewarding our Sundays well! Read below for the most recent impacts and what this means for you:

Current Impact:

  • Since March 2026, the East entrance has been closed (including the roundabout), as well as 50 parking spaces in the East lot.
  • From June to present (Aug 2026) the West entrance is also undergoing renovations, with limited access.
  • Starting in August 2026, the West entrance will re-open. The East entrance and 50 parking spaces in the East lot will remain closed until the project is complete.

What This Means For You:

Parking:

  • Most of the East lot remains available.
  • You can also park in the West lot.

Entering:

  • Enter through the entrance on the West side, as indicated on the map.

If you’re a visual person, don’t worry—we will have signs at Austin High to guide you into our parking lot, building, and sanctuary.
