Amber graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Texas A&M University in 2013 and a Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary in 2020. Her main focuses as a counselor are on the areas of trauma and sexual abuse. Her previous experience includes counseling women and children in the Domestic Violence Unit at The Salvation Army in Dallas and serving as a resident assistant at the Poiema Foundation’s safe home for women rehabilitating from commercial sexual exploitation. Amber is passionate about helping people by utilizing a holistic approach grounded in a biblical worldview to care for their minds, bodies, and spirits. She believes every person has incredible worth and can live an abundant life.
Amber is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), which is a psychotherapy that aids in relieving the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. Amber also has experience in the following areas—depression, anxiety, mood disorders, life stage transitions, and couples counseling. Amber is a Certified Facilitator of Prepare Enrich.
Amber and her husband Sean met at Dallas Theological Seminary in 2017 and were married in 2019. God has blessed them with two daughters, born in 2021 and 2023. She enjoys being outdoors, hiking, playing board games, going to theme parks, listening to music, and ministering to others.
