Christine received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Oklahoma and her Masters in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theology Seminary. She first started counseling at The Austin Stone Counseling Center in 2016 and is a firm believer in the need to tell our stories in and out of the counseling room. Our stories matter because God’s story matters, and it is in telling our stories that we have the opportunity to see His work in our lives. She believes that God has graciously given us His Word to address the things that come up in counseling while also giving us psychological evidence and theories to supplement what He has already deemed entirely sufficient for us. She seeks to incorporate both beliefs into her theories and methods, and her greatest desire is that you would encounter the Lord through the counseling process.
Christine has experience working with anxiety, depression, family of origin issues, faith-related struggles, eating disorders, trauma and abuse, addiction, grief, marriage and parenting, perinatal grief and loss and is currently specializing in sexual issues within therapy. She is an American Board of Christian Sex Therapy Associate (ABCST) working on her certification through the Institute of Sexual Wholeness while under the supervision of a Certified Christian Sex Therapist and supervisor. Her passion includes working with individuals toward a biblically informed stewardship of sexuality as well as helping couples reach greater intimacy with each other. This includes the emotional, spiritual, as well as the physical aspects of intimacy that are grounded in the message of the gospel and clinically supported interventions of sex therapy. She is available to see male and female individuals and couples. She has experience working with sexual pain, desire discrepancies, concerns with arousal and release, and sexual intimacy post betrayal.
Christine is a native Texan and she and her husband, Jonathan have been in Austin for over eight years. They have two young kids and a chocolate lab and enjoy being active, especially in the mountains. Christine also loves to read and write and has a special interest in fiction.
