Crystal has an extensive background of working with children, teens, and parents since 2003 as a Certified Child Life Specialist. Crystal is a kid person through and through, and her love and respect for children inspired her to continue her education, completing her master’s in counseling in 2013 from the University of North Texas, with a specialty in play therapy. Crystal received her License in Professional Counseling (LPC) and her Registration in Play Therapy (RPT) in 2015, and her Supervision designation (LPC-S, RPT-S) in 2022. Crystal enjoys the ability to speak explicitly about the love of Christ to her clients—no matter how young or old they are. She has found the gospel so comforting as she walks alongside those experiencing suffering. It is her joy to help her clients experience Jesus more fully and accurately as He provides the comfort and peace no other source provides this side of heaven.
Crystal works with children and teens with a variety of needs including illness, grief, trauma, attachment needs, anxiety, parental divorce, depression, self-injury, etc. Being a primarily child-adolescent therapist, she also is skilled at working with children and their families as they navigate various developmental challenges, including peer relationships, emotional regulation, puberty, and curiosity related to sexuality. Crystal also works with adult women and specifically has a heart for singles.
Crystal has been trained in Child-Parent-Relationship-Therapy (CPRT), Theraplay, and Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI). She has also taken the Equipped to Counsel (ETC) course, The Austin Stone Development Program (ASDP), and the Writer Development Program through The Austin Stone. Crystal is also a licensed supervisor.
Crystal has been spoiled by the Lord in a plethora of friendships throughout her life, and her favorite thing to do outside of work is to hang out with her friends. She loves all things water-related, a hot yoga or pilates class, and a good cup of coffee. She loves to travel, write, and listen to 90’s music. She loves hosting a fun game night or dinner and has been known to trash-talk when things get competitive (warning).
