Laura earned a bachelor's in Dance with a minor in Psychology from Belhaven University in Jackson, Mississippi. She then completed her master's in Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Dance/Movement Therapy from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Laura is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) under the supervision of Crystal Wilkins, LPC-S, RPT-S, CCLS and a registered Dance/Movement Therapist receiving board-certification supervision from Shannon Gauthier, MA, LMHC, BC-DMT, CMA.
Laura has experience walking with individuals through anxiety, depression and adjustment challenges. For adults, adjustments may include changes in relationships, starting or ending a job or entering a new life stage. For adolescents, these adjustments may include starting a new school year, moving cities or divorce of their parents. In addition, Laura provides crisis counseling for those having experienced acute trauma. Laura works with various ages including children, adults and older adults. She utilizes tools from talk therapy, biblical counseling and dance/movement therapy to best support her clients. She currently sees women and adolescents 13+.
