Liz received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin. During college, she felt her calling to become a counselor. She went to Southern Methodist University where she received her Master of Science in Counseling. Her focus was on play therapy, child counseling, and therapeutic parenting. She has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2014 and a Registered Play Therapist since 2015. In 2018, she took Equipped to Counsel at The Austin Stone. Liz loved learning about biblically-based counseling and ways to apply the hope of the gospel to transform lives. She's excited to bring her love of play therapy and love of Christ together!
Liz has counseling experience working with children two years of age to young adulthood. She's certified in filial therapy, also known as parent-child relationship training. She believes that parents are an important part of the counseling process and hopes to encourage and support them along the way. She also has training in sandtray therapy and has experience using this modality with many children. Her areas of specialty are working with young children experiencing anxiety, behavioral concerns, family transitions, and parent-child relationship struggles.
Liz and her husband Tim have been married since 2012 and have four young children. They are deacons at the Downtown Campus of The Austin Stone and serve in the Marriage Ministry.
