Why is it called “Good Friday” if Jesus died? Are we supposed to celebrate?
Good Friday is a day of remembrance. To know victory, you must first know defeat. To know light, you must first know darkness. Good Friday is a day when all hope seemed lost—Jesus Christ was falsely accused, abandoned by His friends, crucified on a cross, and experienced the agonizing pain of physical suffering and spiritual attack. On this day, Jesus died.
So, why is it good? Good Friday is the day that the Savior of the world became the ultimate sacrifice for our sin so that our debt to God was paid in full and our relationship with Him could be restored forever.
Join us for a Good Friday service as we reflect on the cost of this sacrifice and prepare our hearts for Easter Sunday.
