Education & Experience

Education & Experience

Josiah attended the University of Texas at Austin (Hook 'Em) where he graduated with a degree in Exercise Science and a specialization in education in 2019. In 2024, Josiah felt a tug on his heart to attend a 12 Step Recovery Program at a local church. It was through the step process that Josiah was encouraged to apply for his Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. He is currently a student at Texas Tech University finishing his degree. Josiah has spent the last several years walking alongside others, helping them abide in Jesus one day at a time.

Interests & Specialties

Josiah has a heart for adolescents and young adults. Having grown up in a generation shaped by smartphones, social media, and constant digital access, he understands the unique challenges faced in pursuing healthy relationships, authentic community, and lasting freedom. He is passionate about helping others navigate today's culture with a secure identity in Christ.

Josiah grounds his counseling in the central premise that we are both a physical body and a living soul. Both have importance, and neither can be neglected. Through a collaborative working environment, Josiah's approach integrates themes of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Family Systems.

Josiah has a particular interest in walking alongside clients who are wrestling with depression, anxiety, life change adjustments, dating relationships, and men's issues.

Personal

Josiah moved from Dallas to Austin in July 2026 to join the counseling team at Austin Stone. Josiah loves all things sports, including (but not limited to) Longhorns, Spurs, Astros, and Seahawks. He is actively on the hunt for the best cold brew coffee in Austin and welcomes any recommendations.
