Habakkuk 3:1-2
  1. Read Habakkuk 3:1-2. Habakkuk asks God to revive His work, to make it known, and to remember mercy. How are these three petitions different yet related to one another?
  2. Habakkuk's prayer is deeply personal, yet he offers it as a prayer for other people to say to God. What does that tell you about the kind of person Habakkuk was or how he felt about his people? How do his feelings about people inform both his laments and his petitions?
  3. Habakkuk composes his prayer for himself but with thought for future generations. In what ways do you want to follow his example and leave signposts of God's faithfulness for the next generation?
  4. Read either Luke 6:27-36 or Matthew 18:21-35. What does Jesus say about mercy? How are His words related to the mercy for which Habakkuk asks? What kind of mercy are we to show since God has been merciful to us?
  5. What is a work you want to ask God to revive, either in your personal life, your community, this nation, or the world? Ask God to revive His work of salvation every day this week. Then, invite your community to join you in that prayer.
