Habakkuk 2:1-4

  1. Read Habakkuk 2:1. In what ways does Habakkuk create a time and space in which God can master and guide him and in which he can respond to God?
  2. What would it look like to create space and time for God to master and guide you? What would you need?
  3. How do you typically respond to sin in your life? What would happen if you embraced Habakkuk’s disposition when you sin or feel like you’ve failed God?
  4. Read Habakkuk 2:2–3. What does God tell Habakkuk to do? In what ways is God’s response to Habakkuk surprising?
  5. Read Habakkuk 2:4 and Galatians 3:11. What does it mean to live by faith, and how is it related to being called “righteous”?
  6. In your group or with a couple of friends, practice waiting on God by meditating on Habakkuk 2:4 for 3–5 minutes in silence. What was challenging about waiting in silence for 3–5 minutes? What was encouraging?
