As The Austin Stone’s oldest campus, we’ve experienced a lot of change since 2002. But our heart for this city and the people who call it home has remained. We’re not located in the center of Austin by coincidence—we’re here because we believe God is inviting us to play an active role in proclaiming His gospel in our city. And we’d love for you to be a part of that story.
Because we’re located in downtown Austin, the people who call our church home come from all different demographics and walks of life. Whether you’re a college student looking to connect, a family wanting to get plugged in, or an empty nester hoping for community, there’s a place for you here.

We worship alongside our church family on Sunday mornings across multiple Austin Stone locations, but we mainly gather at the Downtown Campus! During the week, we gather in small-group settings that meet throughout Austin in college students’ apartments, houses, dorms, and campus facilities. These groups typically share meals together, read the Bible, pray, and enjoy doing life in Austin with one another. We have co-ed, guys, and girls groups that college students can join at any time throughout the semester!
Each Sunday, we host programming for children eight weeks old through 4th grade at 9am and kiddos eight weeks old through 5th grade at 11am. Our thoroughly vetted and trained volunteers provide a safe and fun environment for kids to worship Jesus in a large-group setting and learn about the Bible in a smaller group. And for nursery-aged children, we provide a caring space where they are prayed over and cared for during services.
Students in 5th, 6th, or 7th grade meet on Sundays during the 11am service in the iLab inside the Austin High Library for a time of games, donuts, and discussion-based lessons! Students will learn how to read God's Word on their own using the REAP method.
On Sunday mornings, we encourage students in 8th-12th grade to spend time with their church family! This can look like worshiping alongside their parents or friends during church service, sitting under the teaching of elders, or serving in other ministries (like 5/6/7). We hope this empowers students to love the local church! We also have regular social events throughout the semester for 8th-12th grade students.
For 6th-12th grade students, we have smaller discipleship groups that meet throughout the week and are led by Students Ministry leaders! These groups provide a space for students to build deep friendships and a foundation of faith as they learn more about Jesus.

Parking is available in surface lots on the east side of the building (accessible by Cesar Chavez) or on the west side of the building (accessible by Stephen F Austin Drive). Street parking is also available surrounding the campus. Additional parking can be found in the lots near the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail (under MoPac) or at the WAYA fields off Reserve Road.
Since we’re located in the heart of downtown near some of Austin’s best trails, our best advice is to arrive early to find parking!
Yes! For newborns through 4th grade, our Kids Ministry has programming available during the 9am and 11am service. Upon arrival, follow the signs to the Kids check-in area. If you need help, find a volunteer wearing an Austin Stone shirt. Because of our commitment to safety, you’ll check in your child(ren) using our check-in system.
For 5th-7th graders, we have programming through our Students Ministry during the 11am service. They'll meet in the Austin High School Library for fun, food, and Scripture study! All 8th-12th grade students are encouraged to attend service with their parents.
Additionally, we have Sunday evening discipleship communities for 6th-12th grade students who meet at 5pm at our St. John Campus (500 E St Johns Ave, Austin, TX 78752).
For our classes that take place on Sundays, we utilize a variety of spaces in the main building of Austin High School. If a class occurs on a weekday, we typically meet at another Austin Stone campus or in homes across the city. Either way, if you’re enrolled in a class, we’ll always send you clear details on where we’ll be meeting!
We don’t currently have live interpretation, but our South Congregation does offer live American Sign Language interpretation during their 9am service each Sunday! We also post each sermon online with closed captioning.
Yes! Spanish interpretation is available live during the 11am service.
